  • Parents/Guardians/Student: MS 217 School Uniform Policy

    RE: School Uniform Policy

As the weather is getting warmer, we would like to send this reminder of our school uniform policy.

Here at Middle School 217Q we have a student dress code policy. The dress code consists of a collared polo shirt (navy blue or grey) with our school logo, and either Navy Blue, Black or Khaki pants.

Girls may choose to wear a navy blue or khaki skirt/skort.

There are many benefits in having our students wear a uniform to school every day:

    • Promotes a more effective learning environment
    • Fosters school unity and pride
    • Improves student performance
    • Fosters self-esteem
    • Eliminates label competition
    • Simplifies the dressing process in the morning
    • Teaches students appropriate dress and decorum in their “work” place
    • Help to improve student conduct and discipline

Understanding all the benefits wearing a school uniform lends to our school environment any student who is out of uniform will receive a phone call home to inform the parent and may be subjected to stay for detention.

    Thank you

  • Summer Reading List 2024

Summer is almost here, and it's the perfect time to ignite your child's imagination through the magic of reading!
Encouraging your child to participate in summer reading not only keeps their minds sharp during the break but also fosters a lifelong love for learning.  Let them choose books that spark their curiosity and transport them to new realms of imagination. Whether it's thrilling comics, captivating mysteries, or fascinating non-fiction, there's something for every young reader.
We believe it is very important to let your child choose a book they find interesting.  If your child enjoys playing video games, choose a novel based on her favorite video game property.  If he enjoys shows like The Summer I Turned Pretty, read the novels in the series, or other books by the author, Jenny Han.  If your child enjoys watching anime or superhero movies, there are many manga and comics available to read.
To help you get started, check out the latest summer reading list from the American Library Association
Let this be the summer where stories come alive and memories are made in the pages of books. Happy reading!
