Parent Teacher Association consists of Parent/Guardian and Teachers that work together to support the students of the school community.
Why is it important to become an active member of the PTA?
Active Parent participation in school organizations are related to increased academic achievement.
You have an opportunity to participate in planning school wide events.
Make connections with teachers, staff and other parents in the school community.

Busing Information
In accordance with Chancellor’s Regulation A-801, the DOE provides transportation to all eligible New York City students in public, charter, and non-public schools. In partnership with the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) and our school age and preschool bus companies, our mission is to ensure safe and reliable transportation to and from school. Additional Busing information can be found here.
Room Parent Opportunities
We have many opportunities at MS217 for our families to join in the fun!
As we know it takes a village to raise a child we are looking for Guardians that would like to join the team in becoming a room parent for this school year.
We are looking for 2 volunteers per homeroom class. Please read the following responsibilities and sign up:
* Work alongside PTA on Holiday and end of year party planning.
*Email communications to your class guardians on upcoming events.
* Communicate with classroom teacher in individual needs.
Room Parents will be announced to the school community through multiple means of communication.
